Preludes & Contemplations for piano solo is an ongoing project Jonathan has been working on since 2004. The pieces are composed with simplicity in mind and range in difficulty from Grade 4 – Grade 8, the most recent being written in 2024.
Incidentally, the first Prelude became the signature piece for the David Glass Ensemble’s production of Disembodied and the third became “The Old Man Remembers How He Used To Listen To Music As A Child” in the same production. Others have been re-arranged for string orchestra and recorded for Jonathan’s album Minimal Strings, released on the Sparkle & Burn label by EMI.
