The Moon Behind the Clouds is a song cycle with vocals by Barb Jungr. Exploring various aspects of the moon this ‘off-beat album’ (Radio Times) has lyrics by Tania Unsworth, whose first novel The Seahorse was published by Viking/Penguin in July 2002. Ranging from the joyful waltz of The Man in the Moon to the bleak melancholy of the Fortune Teller, The Moon Behind the Clouds is a powerful and moving work.

The Moon Behind the Clouds was featured on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction in August 2002. Barb Jungr, Jonathan Cooper and Kevin Walton performed the cycle live with their ensemble LunaSea along with tracks from SLEEP in May 2004 as part of the Opera Festival at Battersea Arts Centre.
